WordPress · our own theme, migration and maintenance

WordPress done properly: our own theme, not a bought template.

Most slow sites that reach us have the same story: a 60-dollar template with twenty-three plugins on top. We code the theme for your site, write whatever plugins are needed and leave the site passing Core Web Vitals. If you already have WordPress, we migrate it preserving what you earned on Google.

You are probably looking for

You already have WordPress. Something on this list is happening to you.

Nobody buys "WordPress development". They buy it to fix one of these five things.

"My site takes forever to open"

It is almost always three culprits together: a heavy theme loading libraries you do not use, 4 MB images uploaded straight off the camera, and a dozen plugins tripping over each other. It gets fixed, and the number shows in the same week.

4.1s 0.9s same site, same content
301redirect

"If I rebuild the site I lose my Google"

No, as long as every old address points to the new one.

"My site was hacked and a red warning appeared on Google"

The way in is almost never the server: it is a plugin that has not been updated in two years. We clean up, close the entrance and put someone in charge of the updates, which is what was missing.

"I need something no plugin does"

A calculator, an ERP integration, a form that checks stock. A plugin of our own is written and it stays yours, with no annual licences.

"I pay for licences and have no idea what they are for"

We look at which premium plugin can be replaced with code of our own.

"I need the site in English"

Multilingual with its own menu, addresses and search per language.

"Whoever built it disappeared and nobody has the credentials"

It happens often. Control of the domain, the hosting and the panel is recovered, and from then on the credentials stay in your name.

Speed and Core Web Vitals

Google measures your site with three numbers. These three.

LCP is how long the big thing on screen takes to appear. INP, how long it takes to respond when someone taps a button. CLS, how much the elements jump around while it loads. All three are fixed with work, not with a magic plugin.

The thresholds are the ones Google publishes. The times on the bars are an example of the kind of site that reaches us most: your real number depends on the theme, the plugins and the weight of your images, and we measure it before quoting.

What we touch, in order

You start with whatever gives the most result per hour of work. Often the first half of the list solves the problem and the second half is never needed.

  • Images converted to WebP, resized and lazy-loaded
  • Server cache with LSCache, not a cache inside PHP
  • Unused CSS and JavaScript, off the critical path
  • A plugin audit: which get replaced and which get removed
  • Fonts served from your domain, with space reserved
  • A clean database: old revisions, transients and orphaned tables
  • PHP on a current version and slow queries identified
0.4seconds
The other half is where it lives An impeccable theme on a slow server is still a slow site. On our hosting the same WordPress site drops from 2.7s to 0.4s purely by changing the web server and the disk.
Development

Our own theme, our own plugins, no licences to renew.

A bought template brings features for a hundred different businesses and your site uses four. Everything else still loads, and when the author abandons the product you are left with a site nobody updates any more.

From design to theme, with no middlemen

We design in Figma and code that design. There is no "the template will not do that", because there is no template.

Migration

Changing platform without losing what you have already earned on Google.

Whether you come from Wix, from Joomla, from a hand-built site or from another WordPress. The important thing is not copying the content: it is that every old address still leads somewhere.

We take stock of what you have

We export the full list of current addresses and cross-check which receive traffic from Google. That list is what governs everything: without it, a migration is a gamble.

We bring over content, images and mailboxes

Posts, pages, categories, files and mailboxes. If you are coming from a closed platform, we rescue whatever can be exported and tell you what cannot, before we start.

We build the 301 redirects

Every old address points to its new equivalent. Those with no equivalent go to the closest section, never to the home page and never to a 404.

We publish and watch it for two weeks

After the switch we check Search Console every day: crawl errors, pages dropped from the index and broken links. The first fifteen days are when you see whether anything shifted.

old addresses 301 new site

Why a 301 and not something else

A 301 tells Google the move is permanent and to carry over to the new address what the old one had earned. A 302 says "back soon" and carries nothing over. And sending everything to the home page is the fastest way to lose rankings that took years.

  • A redirect map handed over on one sheet, address by address
  • A new sitemap submitted to Search Console on switch day
  • Internal links updated, not chain-redirected
  • A review of 404s during the first 15 days
  • A copy of the old site kept, in case we have to go back
Security

Almost no WordPress site falls over on its own. They get in through an old plugin.

Four measures that close most of the doors. None of them is expensive; what is expensive is not having them the day the red warning appears on Google.

Updating without breaking the home page

The reason almost nobody updates is fear, and it is a reasonable fear: a new version of a plugin can take a section apart. That is why updates are applied with a backup first and the site is checked afterwards, not the other way round.

  • A full backup before anything is touched
  • Core, theme and plugins, with a visual check of the site afterwards
  • If something breaks, we roll back to the previous version the same day
  • Plugins abandoned by their author are replaced, not left in place
with a backup taken first
Monthly maintenance

Someone has to take care of it every month. It can be your team or ours.

We do not publish the price because it depends on the size of the site and on whether it is a corporate site or a shop taking orders every day. What we do publish is exactly what is included.

Core and plugin updates

With a backup first and a check of the site after applying. If something breaks, we roll back the same day.

Backups with a test restore

Files and database, with a copy off the server. And a test restore to confirm it works.

Monitoring every 5 minutes

If the site stops responding, the alert goes to the team. We do not wait for a customer to write to you before telling you.

SSL and domain renewal

They renew before expiry, without you having to remember. The notice arrives anyway, in case you want to keep track.

Fixing minor bugs

The form that stopped sending, the image that shifted on mobile, the broken link. Design changes or new features are quoted separately.

Monthly report

What was updated, what was backed up, how long it was online, which links broke and what we recommend for next month. One sheet, no padding.

What is not in the maintenance

We say it before signing, so nobody argues about it by email later.

  • New sections or a redesign of existing pages
  • Copywriting and bulk product loading
  • Ad campaigns and monthly ranking work
  • Premium plugin licences you decide to keep

All of that can be done: it is quoted as separate work and you approve it first.

And if my site is on other hosting?

It can stay as it is, we just need the credentials. That said, if the server is part of the problem — and on a slow site it often is — you are better off bringing it over: the migration is free and the site ends up on LiteSpeed, NVMe disk and self-renewing SSL.

An engineer checking a system's status on his tablet
One single door

The person coding your theme and the person running the server are the same team.

When the site goes down on a Friday night, the classic problem is that the agency says it is the hosting and the hosting says it is the site. Here there is nobody to point at: the server, the email, the domain and the code are all ours, and you write to one WhatsApp.

  • Hosting with LiteSpeed on NVMe, free migration
  • Mailboxes @tuempresa.pe with SPF and DKIM configured
  • Electronic invoicing with SUNAT through Fastura if your WooCommerce sells
  • One invoice a month under your tax ID, for everything

Typical jobs

We publish named case studies when the client authorises it.

In the meantime, these are the four WordPress commissions that reach us most. No invented figures.

A slow site that needs rescuing

Audit, plugin cleanup and server cache. It is the most frequent commission.

Getting off a closed platform

Content, images and 301 redirects so no rankings are lost.

A redesign on the same content

A new theme respecting the addresses that already get traffic.

Someone taking charge every month

Updates, backups, monitoring and a report you can actually read.

A block reserved for real case studies When we publish one it will carry the client's name, what was done and the before-and-after measurement, taken with the same tool on both days. No charts without a source.
Questions

What people ask before touching a WordPress site.

Do you use a bought template or code the theme?
We code the theme. We design in Figma, you approve it and that design becomes code. That way your site loads only what it uses, and when you ask for a new section there is no fighting the limitations of a template built for another business.
If you rebuild my site, do I lose what I already rank for on Google?
No, if it is done properly. Before touching anything we export all the current addresses and cross-check which receive traffic. Each gets its 301 redirect to the equivalent page, the new sitemap is submitted to Search Console on switch day and we check crawl errors during the first fifteen days.
My site takes ages to load. Can it be fixed or does it need rebuilding?
It can almost always be fixed. First we measure and tell you what is weighing it down: usually uncompressed images, the lack of a server cache and overlapping plugins. That alone usually brings it down considerably. Rebuilding the theme is justified when the theme itself is the problem, and in that case we tell you with the number in front of you.
What does the monthly maintenance include?
Core, theme and plugin updates with a backup first; file and database backups with a copy off the server and a test restore; monitoring every five minutes; SSL renewal; fixing minor bugs; and a one-page monthly report with what was done. What is not included: new sections, redesigns and ad campaigns. Those are quoted separately and you approve them first.
Can I buy just the maintenance if someone else built the site?
Yes. We start with a review of the current state: versions, abandoned plugins, surplus administrator users and whether there is a backup off the server. We give you that list and from there we decide what has to be fixed first. We never take on someone else's site without reviewing it first.
My site was hacked. Can you clean it up?
Yes, and the first step is to isolate the site and take a copy of the infected state before touching anything. Then it is cleaned, the way in is closed — almost always an unupdated plugin — all credentials are changed and a review is requested from Google to lift the warning. What follows is putting someone in charge of updates, because otherwise it happens again.
Will I be able to edit the site without calling you?
Yes, and it is part of the delivery. Every editable block has its own clearly named field, not a free-form editor where one return breaks the design. The training is recorded on video and we leave you a short manual with the five tasks you will repeat most.
Do I have to stay on your hosting?
No. We can develop and maintain your WordPress on the server you already have, we just need the credentials. That said, if the slowness comes from the server, bringing it here is usually the cheapest fix: the migration is free, the site ends up on LiteSpeed over NVMe and the SSL renews itself.
Is WordPress any good for a shop or is something else better?
It works, with WooCommerce, and it is what we deliver most in Peru because it takes Yape, Plin, Culqi and Izipay and connects to Fastura to file the receipt with SUNAT. If your catalogue is huge or you have several warehouses, the conversation is a different one: we look at that in online shop.
Do the plugins you write for me have an annual licence?
No. What we code for you is yours and comes with the source code. If you also need a commercial third-party plugin, we tell you which, what its licence costs and whether there is an alternative we could write so you do not carry an annual payment.
How much does it cost?
It depends on the job: optimising the speed of a ten-page site is not the same as rebuilding the theme of a site with a 400-post blog. Fill in the brief below and within 48 hours the proposal arrives with the scope, the timescale in business days and what is out of scope. If your site is online, we measure it before proposing anything.
Do you work with the site in English and Spanish?
Yes. Each language gets its own menu, its own addresses and its own content, declared so Google knows which to serve in each country. It adds about five business days to the timescale. You can supply the translation or we arrange it, and that is quoted in the same proposal.
